Mary L. Cox of St. Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 99 on Wednesday, December 25, 2019. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edgar “Ted” L. Cox; her parents, Ernest G. Harley, Sr. and Katheryn W. Harley; her brothers, John and Ernest G. Harley, Jr; and her brother-in-law, Bernard J. Russell.
She is survived by her children, John E. (Carolyn) Cox, Phillip R. (Trudi) Cox, James L. Cox, and Mary C. (Don) Herbert; her grandchildren, John Cox, Michael Cox, Elizabeth (Dan) Murray, Christine (Matt) Wiles, Gregory (Roshni) Cox, Mark (Nobel) Cox, Lori (Chuck) Wert, Steven (McKenzie) Cox, Scott (Joy) Herbert, and Brian (Ahyoung) Herbert; her great-grandchildren, Amanda (Sterling), Blake, Ryan, Julia, Rolli, Chase, Ally, Leia, Amy, Riley, Dylan, Connor, Kennedi, Bennett, Owen, and Theodora; her great-great-grandchildren, Addison and Kase; her sister, Catherine Eugenia Russell; her sister-in-law, Tammie Harley; and her half-brother, Herman (Kay) Harley. Mary Louise leaves many relatives and friends knowing that they will meet again one day where there will be no pain or sorrow.
After Mary’s children were school age, she taught school in the Fort Zumwalt School District for twenty-five years and enjoyed playing the piano for her church for several years and substitute teaching in the adult ladies’ class at Bogey Hills Baptist Church.
