Mary Julia Hinsley (nee Strong), 94, returned home to her Savior while with family and friends, listening to hymns, on Saturday, March 11, 2017 after 2 1/2 years of loving care at NHC-St. Charles. Born in Hardenville, MO, she lived near the Gainesville, MO area with family until moving to St. Charles, MO with her husband after WWII. Beloved wife of the late Henry Warden Hinsley. Dear mother of the late Larry Wayne Hinsley (Judy), dear grandmother of Greg Hinsley and Scott (Amber) Hinsley, beloved great-grandmother of Alexandra and Samuel Hinsley. Dear sister to Verdon Strong, Grace Davidson, Maxine Luttrell, and Ikie (Pete) Henderson. Preceded in death by her parents Saul and Maggie M. Strong (nee Lawson), her brothers, Woodrow Strong, Hershel Strong, and Saul Strong, Jr. She was a dear sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt and friend to many.

Mary was a sister in Christ with members of the Harvester Church of Christ, St. Peters, MO. She loved her garden, her flowers, her hymnals, and the many quilts she made. If desired, please make contributions in memory of Mary to your local food pantry, the American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.

After a private viewing with family, close friends from her church and neighborhood, she was laid to rest at St. Charles Memorial Gardens in the Field of Honor, alongside her husband, Henry and near her son, Larry.

On Saturday, March 25, at 12:30 PM, we will hold a memorial service and celebration of her life at Harvester Church of Christ, 106 Willis Drive (cross street: Thoele Road), St. Peters, MO. An open house will be held from 2 PM - 5 PM at the Hinsley family residence.
