Martin L. Sherman, of Saint Charles, MO, died Sunday, January 8, 2017, at the age of 66. Beloved husband of 44 years to Patricia Sherman; cherished son of the late Mae L. and Thomas J. Sherman, Sr.; devoted father of Andrew (Katie) Sherman and Lauren Sherman; loving grandfather of Eileen, Mary, and Nora Rose Sherman; and dear brother of Carolyn Sherman, Thomas J. (Mary Ann) Sherman, Jr., James E. (Michele) Sherman, Anne (David) Edgmon, Michael R. (Glenda) Sherman, and Martha Sherman. He was a loving uncle, cousin, brother-in-law, and friend to many. He is also survived by the many people whose lives he touched.
Martin worked with Employment Services with the State of Missouri for over 30 years. He graduated from Lindenwood Univeristy with his bachelor’s degree in teaching with an emphasis in art. He later went on to receive his master’s degree in Adult Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He was the former president of the Lindenwood Alumni Association. Martin was also a proud St. Charles resident with a wealth of knowledge of the history of the city. In his free time, he enjoyed painting and gardening. After his retirement, he volunteered at Lindenwood in many ways, especially the archives. He was dearly loved, and will be missed by all who knew him.
