Marjorie Ellen Dowdy

Marjorie Ellen Dowdy of O’Fallon, MO, passed Saturday, May 12, 2018, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late John David Dowdy; cherished daughter of the late Theodore and Martha Colbert; devoted mother of Michele (Dennis) Perino, Ellen (Larry) Shobe, Robert (Angela) Dowdy, and the late John D. Dowdy; cherished grandmother of Jeffrey (Erin) Ziercher, Thomas (Janice) Perino, Ethan Dowdy, Brandon Dowdy, and Justin Dowdy, treasured great-grandmother of Jordan Ziercher, Abigail Ziercher, Mason Perino, and Maxwell Perino. Marjorie was also preceded in death by her grandsons, Jason Shobe and Anthony Perino.

Marjorie was born and raised in Alton, Illinois and attended Marquette High School. She met her husband John at her first real job at Mallincrkrodt where she worked in the lab and were married for 65 years. They were both real snackers; Marjorie enjoyed her Cheez-Its and Milano cookies with chocolate ice cream and her Godiva dark chocolate. She was real estate professional for many years, but her real enjoyment was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marjorie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
