Marion “Jack” Thro

Marion “Jack” Thro of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of 63 years to Joann Thro; cherished son of the late August and Edna Thro; devoted father of Cecilia (Bill) Knoblauch, Theresa Thro, Mary Hicks, Anne (Ken) Eichler, Becky (J) Powers, Reta Thro, Jim (Angela) Thro, Julie (John) Fitts, Martha (Nik) Dexter, Joe Thro, and Aimee (Jeff Hayden) Goodwin; loving grandfather of 20; and treasured great-grandfather of 9.

Marion is preceded in death by his brother Anthony Thro, and sisters-in-law Vera Thro and Dorothy Thro.

Jack proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict before returning home and dedicating many years as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was also a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church. In his spare moments, Jack graciously volunteered with the Meals on Wheels and relaxed by enjoying sports or playing the piano. Jack was deeply loved and will be immensely missed by all who knew him.
