Marilynn Smith (nee: Sherwood) of Saint Charles, MO, died on Monday, April 3, 2017, at the age of 91. Loving wife of the late Richard E. Smith; beloved daughter of the late Clinton and Leola Sherwood; devoted mother of Doug (Donna) Smith, the late Stuart A. Smith, Debbie Mikeska, Sheri (Leon) McDowell, and Kelly Smith; mother-in-law of Sherry Smith; cherished grandmother of Joe (Marci), Lori (Ryon), Leah (Chris), Kari (Shane), Mindy (Jon), Toni, Haley(Andrew), Kirbie (John), Tara (Keith), Traci, John, Brian (Chrissy), Eric (Emily), and Kevin (Sarah); treasured great-grandmother of 24.5; loving aunt, cousin, and friend to many. She was also preceded in death by her brother James Sherwood.

Marilynn graduated from Asbury University in 1947. She married her loving husband Richard on November 5, 1949. Marilynn and Richard moved to McAllen, TX, to serve as missionaries on the Texas/Mexico Border. They raised five children. Marilynn’s love of flowers and sewing allowed her to open her own business, Bridal Veils, etc. in St. Charles, MO, for 25 years, making many brides happy with custom veils and accent pieces. She loved her family, church, and she loved her Lord.

Marilynn lived her life in a manner that touched everyone’s heart that met her. She was a perfect role model as a wife, mom, grandma, and friend. She was kind, thoughtful, selfless, loving, forgiving and non-judgmental. She was grateful every day for all the Lord gave her.
