Marilyn “MJ” Joyce Goerke

Marilyn "MJ" Joyce Goerke of Saint Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 88 on Sunday, November 1, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances Dixon and Ruth Gilmore.
MJ is survived by her children, Sheryl (Dave Morris) Goerke, Carin (Greg) Oliver, Susan (Keith) Smith, and Jennifer Goerke; her grandchildren, Sarah (Andrew Hime) Hollinger and Kristen (Nathan) Oncken; and her sister, Phyllis (the late Jack) Dingeman.
MJ devoted her life to artistic expression and won many awards over the years for her beautiful water color paintings, handmade books and collages presented at art shows. She was a name in the local art scene through her participation in Art St. Louis and the Artist Guild shows as well as her passionate support for the St. Charles Foundry Art Centre. MJ also taught Elementary Art at Jefferson Community College.
MJ was a faithful member of Bonhomme Presbyterian Church. Above everything, MJ loved her family and treasured the time she spent with them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions in MJ’s name may be made to Art St. Louis, the St. Louis Artist’s guild, or to the Foundry Art Centre.
