Lyle C. Bjerkestrand

Bjerkestrand, Lyle Charles, of Saint Charles of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 at the age of 85.
Cherished son of the late Stella and Lewis Bjerkestrand; devoted father of Cary A. (Rich) Moore, Mark A. (Debbie) Bjerkestrand, Cathy S. (Mike) Nolle, and Matt L. Bjerkestrand; loving grandfather of Ryan (Rachel) Moore, Matthew Moore, Chris (Sara) Carmichael, Drew (Jaime) Nolle, Brett Nolle, Briana (Trey) Mc Coy, Blake Kuester, Rhiannon Landing Fultz, Rick (Jamie) Johnson and Ryan (Lauren) Johnson; treasured great grandfather of Neil Nolle and Alana Moore; dear brother of Anna Jane (Bill) Hinderaker and Mary Lou (the late Allen) Vikdal; significant other of 25 years to Pat Smith. Lyle is also preceded in death by his daughter Cindy Carmichael.
Lyle was born on a farm in Radcliffe, IA on Nov. 15, 1932. He graduated from Radcliffe High School in 1950. Lyle had a long career in aviation, served proudly in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller and continued that career for close to 50 years. He enjoyed motorcycles, Ford Mustangs, boating, collecting and repairing antique clocks, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
