The Angels visited Mrs. Lucille Irene (Hawkins) Harper the morning of March 21, 2017.
Lucille was born on July 11, 1909 in Superior, Wisconsin.
She lived to be 107 years, 8 months and 10 days.
She was the daughter of the late C. Allen and Lulu Vivian (Hull) Hawkins.
On September 5, 1926 Lucille was united in marriage to Harry Edward Harper, Sr. and they shared fifty year together. In this union they were blessed with 5 children, two are still living.
She was a Nurse. She retired from St. Charles Welfare Department as an in-home Social Worker.
Mrs. Harper will be missed by: daughters, Shirley Benton of O’Fallon, MO, Janet (Stanford) Straw of Knoxville, TN. Grandchildren: Verner Harper of Indiana, Lester (Donna) Dotson of Cottleville, Karen (Don) Rich of Warrenton, Sharon (Dennis) Forbeck of McDonald, TN, Jamey Benton of St. Louis, Deborah (Dan) Grimes of Nashville, TN, Cynthia (Brian) Mitchell of Apopka, FL, Stephen (Denise) Harper of California, Mark (Carrie) Harper, Taipei. Her great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Lucille is preceded in death by her husband Harry Harper Sr., three children Harry Harper Jr., Joyce Dotson, Dale Harper, son-in-law James Benton; three grandchildren: Pam (Harper) Gullion, Harry Harper III, and Sharon (Whitt) Benton,. All her brothers and sister have passed plus their wives.
