Lois Ann Fitzgerald

March 10, 1935 — May 9, 2019

With the hope of the resurrection, Lois Ann Fitzgerald passed away May 9, 2019 at her home. She is survived by her children, Courtney Spezia (Paul), Christopher Fitzgerald (Jennifer), as well as her 7 grandchildren: Paul, Mia, Benjamin, and Peter Spezia, and Madeline, Meg, and Erin Fitzgerald. She is also survived by her siblings: Linda Henderson, Robert Foss, Ernest Foss (Rosie), and David Foss (Priscilla), her brother-in-law William Fitzgerald, and sister-in-law, Betty Fitzgerald, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Norma Foss, her husband John, and her daughter Allison Marie as well as her siblings and in-laws: Ellen and John Fitzgerald, Duane and Teddy Foss, Delores Wynne, Spencer and Darlene Foss, Robert Henderson, Sharon Foss, Rosalie and Don Sorensen,  and many beloved sister and brother-in-laws.

She was born in Whitehall, WI on March 10, 1935 and went to Whitehall High School.  She came to Saint Louis along with her sister Linda and worked near the Fox Theatre and Saint Louis University. She married John Fitzgerald (Jack) , and they moved to Florissant, MO where she went to work as a waitress at the Officer’s Club near Lambert Airport for her friends, Bill and Maxine Jordan. When this closed,  she worked at Jordan’s restaurant until her retirement. She then helped to care for her grandchildren while they were young.  She was a wonderful person who dedicated all her time and effort at caring lovingly for her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel, to sew, cross-stitch , and do crafts of any sort. She also liked to gamble at the boat and play cards. She liked watching TV like Raymond and Jeopardy, old movies, and she was a great cook. Also, at Christmas she made loads of cookies which she doled out in boxes. She had compassion for everyone, often to tears, even when she didn’t know them, and would lend a helping hand anytime. Her faith was very important to her as well, and she lived as such.
