Sommer, Lawrence K. “Ken” of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Jane E. Sommer; cherished son of the late Edmund Sommer and Magdelen Harstick; devoted father of Patricia (Pam) James-Sommer, Laura Leigh Sommer, and Ellen (Steve) Piacentini; loving grandfather of Nick (Callan) Piacentini, Natalie (Clint) Gersema; treasured great-grandfather of Wren and Navy Gersema; and dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Ken is preceded in death by his siblings Arthur Sommer, Irene Koch, and Tom Sommer.
Ken proudly served his country in the United States Marines during the Korean War. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
