Lawanda J. States of O’Fallon, Missouri, beloved wife and mother, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 11, 2017. She was preceded in 1998 by her husband, John T. States. Her survivor is their son, Garrett Liam States of O’Fallon, her sisters Delores Jackson and Ruthine Murphy, and many nieces and nephews. Lawanda is preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Mabel VanDeest.
Lawanda was known for her love of life. She traveled, enjoyed visiting art museums, and attending the symphony. Her greatest passion was her family. Lawanda was deeply loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
