Kenneth Wayne Hubbard, of O Fallon, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at the age of 86. Loving husband of 65 years to Mary Hubbard; beloved son of the late Robert and Otha Hubbard; devoted father of Kent (Cheryl) Hubbard, Susan (the late Michael) Jackson, and Laura (Bob) Shamel; cherished grandfather of Kyle (Megan) Hubbard, Hillary (Sean) Hall, Clay (Rachel) Hubbard, Crystal Schultz, Brandon Shamel, Michael (Emily) Jackson, Ryan (Courtney) Shamel, Chad Shamel, and Chloe Shamel; treasured great-grandfather of Mason, Kate, John Luke, Kash, Jude, Quinn, Bowie, and Meadow; and dear brother of Roberta and the late Mary. Kenneth was a dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
Ken began his police career with the St. Louis City Police Department, and retired as a sergeant from UM-St. Louis Campus Police Department after more than 35 years in law enforcement. He was also a member of the Missouri Fraternal Order of Police. And, as a perk of his job with St. Louis City PD, Ken got to drive Stan Musial home from the St. Louis Cardinals games.
Ken looked forward to hitting the golf course and playing a round or two with his buddies. He was also a big sports fan, but he truly enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids sporting events. He loved going to the movies and out to dinner with his wife. On the weekends, they would join their friends for some fun-filled card playing. Ken was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
