Kenneth Virgil Novel, of O Fallon, MO, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of 61 years to Angelia Novel; cherished son of the late Louis and Lorene Novel; devoted father of Cindy Louise (John) MacKusick, Kenneth Harry Novel, Jeffrey Lynn (Brenda) Novel, Karen Michelle (Gino) Hamby, Dawn Renee (Barak) Cook; loving grandfather of Erica, Richard, Jessica, Kacey, Jeffrey, Dustin, Chelsey, Phillip, Hannah, and C hristine; treasured great-grandfather of Brooke, Morgan, Brandon, Ethan, Caleb, Jackson, Audrey, MacKenzie, Kristopher, Sophia, Liam, Sara, Amanda, and Quentin; dear brother of the late Dean and Charles Novel, and Nancy (Charles) Wade; brother-in-law of Paulette Novel; Kenneth is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Ken proudly and honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and uncle who loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Kenneth enjoyed fishing, golfing, pitching horseshoes, and bowling. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The Novel family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Ken’s Comfort Hospice caregiver, Josephine, and other hospice staff for their kindness and compassion, and to the doctors at VPA and St. Joseph West Hospital Cancer Center for their excellent care.
