Joyce Ann Burton, Joyce Ann (nee: Rogers) of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the age of 80. Cherished daughter of Harold and Eva Rogers; devoted mother of Terri Thompson, and Karen (Mike) Gray; loving grandmother of Erin (Martin Desriviere) Thompson, Kristin Thompson, Dylan Gray, and Peyton Gray.

Joyce retired from teaching for the St. Louis Special School District. She received her Bachelor’s from Washington University, and was a Docent at the St. Louis Zoo. Joyce was also a faithful member at Manchester United Methodist Church. She enjoyed exercising at the YMCA, as well as playing bunko. Joyce loved her book club and touched the lives of many friends. She loved going to the Muny, and she was also an avid Blues and Cardinals fan. Most of all, she especially loved spending time at her vacation home at the Lake of the Ozarks. Joyce was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Joyce's name to St. Louis Zoo.

candle 8Joyce will be missed by her friends from Church of the Master in Florissant. We had several trips to the lake house. Just us girls eating and shopping. And laughing. RIP dear friend.

Joyce will be sorely missed by her STL Zoo Docent family especially those of us who live in St. Charles County and shared rides to zoo functions. Her soft voice and kind smile will live on

With sorrow,I saw the name of Joyce Burton in the obituarties today, and extend my sympathy. Many fond memories of a lovely neighbor in Wedgwood, and Wedgwood School, as well as our daughters in Girl Scouts have endured through the years. It was a joy to see her briefly at the Muny Opera 100th celebration as we exited down the ramp.

    Sincerely, Suzanne O’Brien
