Joseph Shatro

Joseph Garhardt Shatro of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Anne L. Shatro; cherished son of the late Irvin and Amanda Shatro; devoted father of Karen (Jim) Clements, Barb (Mike) Underwood, Glen Shatro, Robert (Samantha) Shatro, and Joseph Shatro; loving grandfather of Andrea, Julia, Sarah, Jessica, Nick, Ashley, Katie, Natalie, Drake, and Alec; treasured great-grandfather of Luke and Oliver; and dear brother of Lucille (Leon) Fuller. Joseph was also preceded in death by his first wife Katherine Shatro.
Joseph was dedicated to his career as a painter and held many roles within the community. He was a member of Painter’s Local Union #1156 for over 50 years as well as a Business Representative for Painter’s District Council #2 representing Warren, Franklin, and St. Charles Counties for 13 years. He was a Secretary – Business Manager of Painter’s DC #2 for 14 years and Managing Trustee of Welfare Pension and Vacation Funds. Lastly, he was a representative of the Painters International AFL-CIO for 14 years.
Among being an influential business man and painter, Joseph also enjoyed the time spent with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
