Joseph Matthew “Joe” Molitor, Sr., of O’Fallon, Missouri, fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Friday, January 27, 2017, at the age of 91. Loving husband of the late Bernice A. Molitor; beloved son of the late Leo and Frances Molitor; devoted father of Diana (the late John) Raso, Patricia (Don) Duncan, Joseph M. Molitor, Jr., and Kathy (Charles) McCallister; cherished grandfather of Vanessa (Paul), Jacquelyn (Dave), Victoria (Tim), Jennifer (Nate), Don Jr.(Becca), Becky (Tommy), Adam, Kyle (Shannon), Heather (Dan), Sarah (Michael), Tyler, and Tiffany; treasured great-grandfather of Jade Lana, Kaleb, Anthony, Megan, Abby, and Gabrielle; dear brother of Dorothy (the late Bill) Coleman, James (Darlene) Molitor, Shirley (Leroy) Horstmeier, Charles Molitor, and David Molitor. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ralph (Delores) Molitor, Edith (Marion) Suender, Vera (Art) Burkemper, Anthony (Naomi) Molitor, Rosemary (Leon) Wilburn, and Leo Molitor Jr.
Joe proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for more than 30 years with Cupples Products as a tool & die maker. He was a member of District 9 Machinists Union, American Legion Post #388, and the Knights of Columbus in O’Fallon, MO. He enjoyed stamp collecting and puzzles. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends. He was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
