Niggemeier, Joseph F., of St. Charles, MO, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Wednesday December 23, 2015, at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeneanne (Ohrman) Niggemeier; four children Edie (Rich) Hollander, Cindy (Jim) Davis, Julie (Patrick) Pryor, and Paul (Missy) Niggemeier; one sister Celeste (Ralph) Sebacher; 13 grandchildren: Abigail and Carrie Hollander, Emily (Andrew) Chambers, Alex, Madeline, Sam and Olivia Davis, Nicholas, Mitchell and Bradley Pryor, Brendan, Luke and Jack Niggemeier; and one great-grandchild Andrew Chambers.
Joseph was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Frances (Buerges) Niggemeier and one sister Dolores (Cliff) Honerkamp.
Joe was a life-long parishioner of St. Peter Parish in St. Charles. He served on the Parish Council, Cemetery Board, Choir Member, Volunteer Maintenance Crew, and was a chicken dinner and fish-fry volunteer for many years. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus #823 in St. Charles and the American Legion Post #312. Joe was employed at ACF Industries in St. Charles for 39 years as a draftsman, project engineer, and quality assurance manager. He retired in 1996.
Joe enjoyed coaching his childrens’ softball and soccer teams and watching his grandchildren play many baseball, basketball, football, volleyball, soccer, rugby, and lacrosse games along with swim and track meets. He was their biggest fan. Joe also enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting pool, pinochle, softball, and working in his yard picking up sticks and sweetgum balls, and anything else outdoors.
Joe served in the U.S. Army in the post-Korean war era.
He will be missed by many.
