Joseph Carl Dalpiaz of St. Charles, MO went to be with family and friends on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.
Born in St. Louis on January 12, 1935, Joe never met a stranger. He loved a good joke, or even just a corny one, and had a big, hearty, contagious laugh. Joe could dish it out, but could also take it. His one liners continued until the very end.
He proudly attended St. Louis University High School where he was on the Track, Football, Basketball and Soccer teams earning several athletic letters.
Joe worked his way up through the ranks at St. Louis Diecasting for 42 years, NEVER missing a day.
Joe loved to bowl, but had an aversion to picking the lone 10 pin. He knew his way around a poker table, and enjoyed many a heated game of Farkle!
In his earlier years, Joe was very proud of his yard and gardens. He had quite the green thumb, growing beautiful roses, daisies, clematis, and the greenest grass! He also loved to fish, and favored catching and eating bluegill.
His sweet tooth led to the creation of the “Joe Sampler Platter,” as we so fondly call it. No matter how full he was from dinner, there was always room for a “sample” of each and every dessert!
Joe was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish and their 50+ Club. He loved his church family, arriving an hour before mass to “hold court” in the vestibule with his church buddies! He had his regular pew in the front of church and was quite the singer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rose (Nico) Dalpiaz, his wife Joan (Steinmetz), his best friend Patricia Beck, and his daughter Nicole, his brother, Edward and sister, Rita.
Survivors include his daughter Tina Dalpiaz (Larry McNamara), sons Michael (Jacqueline) Dalpiaz, Timothy (Cynthia) Dalpiaz, Grandchildren Kristopher (Laura) Dalpiaz, Daniel Slapak, and Alyssa Dalpiaz, and Great-Grandchildren Gracie, Emma and Samantha.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the form of masses at Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 2 Seton Ct., St. Charles, MO 63303 or to the PAN Foundation: Patient Access Network Foundation 1331 F Street NW, Suite 975, Washington, DC, 20004 Or go to panfoundation.org
