John A. Hoormann, 97, passed away peacefully at his home on May 22, 2018.
He began his life on May 20, 1921 as the son of Anton J. and Elizabeth (Derhake) Hoormann in Florissant, MO. John proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. He married Adele B. Koester in 1948 and was blessed with 7 children.
John moved his family to a farm in Old Monroe in 1959 and made it his home for the rest of his life. He was a humble servant of God as he worked the fields; always praying his Rosary to honor the Blessed Mother.
He is survived by his children: Joseph, Susan, Marie, Alma, Marion and Jane; and his loving sisters, Sr. Rose Philippine, CSJ and Sr. Agnes, RSCJ; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is sharing his eternal life with his parents, wife Adele, and daughter, Dorothy; along with his brothers, Art, Tony and Harry and all his relatives and friends.
And he is still praying his Rosary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Masses or memorials made to Academy of the Sacred Heart Endowment Fund or Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondolet Building Fund.
