Jimmy Ray Brown Jr.

April 9, 1960 — May 28, 2021

Jimmy Ray Brown Jr., age 61, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  Jim was born on April 09, 1960, in Portsmouth, Virginia to Jimmy R. Brown Sr. and Barbara J. Whittaker Brown.  He was united in marriage to Kathryn Lois Crabtree on January 10, 2004.  After retirement from the Air Force in 1998, Jim worked in the Global Information Technology field  for over 23 years, the last 17 with Citi.  He enjoyed reading, spending time with his children and extended family, training his dogs, bee keeping, coin collecting, land conservation and sitting on the back porch overlooking his farm.  Jim was an accomplished, creative and intelligent man, a great teacher, and had the ability to quietly make things better for everyone around him.  He was also a kind, funny, an engaging personality to talk to; a beautiful wonderful soul.  Above all, he was a beloved husband, father, son and brother.

Jim is survived by his wife Kathy; his parents Jim Sr. and Barbara,  a son, Jimmy R Brown III and his wife Hannah (Bever), a daughter, Michelle Mary Jane (Brown) Peterson and husband Anthony; a brother, Thomas C Brown and his wife Christina, and his dog, Hunter.  He is further survived by numerous other relatives.

Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents; and dogs Blade and Scout.

A private, family memorial service for Jim will be held on June 12, 2021 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Baue Funeral Home, 3950 W. Clay, St. Charles, MO 63301.  Interment will be June 15, 2021 with the procession and Military Honor Ride departing Baue Funeral home at 9:00 a.m., destination Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, MO  63125

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Missouri Department of Conservation.
