Jeanne Louise Saavedra (nee Sapp), of O’Fallon, Missouri, (formerly of Ashland, Missouri), passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021, at the age of 63.  She was born December 12, 1957.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Leno and Shirley Sapp; devoted mother of Eric Saavedra; adored sister of Jacalyn (Victor) Sapp, Linda (Jeff) Schuermann, and Rodney (Leta) Sapp; dear sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, niece, cousin, mentor, and friend to all.

Jeanne was the valedictorian of the 1976 graduating class of Southern Boone County School in Ashland, Missouri, and received her masters at the University of Missouri.

Jeanne was dedicated to her career as a speech pathologist while caring for infants and children for more than 40 years, and she loved her job.  She attended many conferences to further her education, and she also had the honor of being a presenter.  Her knowledge and passion made her an expert in her field.

More than anything, Jeanne loved to spend time with her family.  Whether she traveled to visit family, or host them at her home, she always looked forward to being with her loved ones.  She enjoyed family outings at Pomme de Terre, as well as many vacations with various family members.

In her spare time, Jeanne loved to attend Eric’s hockey games and to cheer him on.  She cherished family time with Eric, especially watching Hallmark movies.  She also treasured the love from her grand-dog, Pepper.

Jeanne was very humble, and she will be remembered for her unconditional love, honesty and caring ability for others.  She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeanne's name to Foundation for Women's Cancer.

Jeanne was a dear friend, colleague and mentor to me. She was passionate about helping her little patients and was incredibly gentle and effective. She was revered by her colleagues including doctors, nurses, dieticians, psychologists and occupational therapists. She worked tirelessly to advocate in her patients’ best interests, even if the best course was unpopular or difficult. As a friend, she was so caring and I always knew she was there for me. I felt honored to be there for her too. I will miss her dearly, but will always carry her in my heart.

Her patients and colleagues loved her for her endless compassion, patience, dedication, wealth of knowledge, humility, and genuineness. She always conducted herself with the highest of integrity and was never too busy to help out a friend or stranger. I admired her passion, courage, and sense of humor. candle 7Jeanne was a fantastic mentor, colleague, and person inside and out. I loved being able to learn from her, hear her perspective on difficulty patients, and share about our lives over an afternoon diet pepsi. I will miss her but know she is checking on spending time with some of her beloved patients above. ❤

candle 2I’ll never forget how incredibly welcoming and kind Jeanne was when she and I became colleagues. She didn’t have to, but she would spend hours after our work day was over, helping me navigate through challenging cases. I so admired her passion and dedication to the children she worked with. I learned much from a wonderful, sweet person and a very talented therapist. I also know how much she loved her family. My sincere sympathy to all of you.

Jeanne was one of the sweetest persons I have ever known. She was a dear cousin and really my first friend since we were born 1 month apart, our mothers were sisters, we lived close to each other, and we went to elementary school together. She filled my childhood with treasured memories. I will miss her smiling face and her unconditional love.

Jeanne was truly a family oriented person, Eric was the light of her life and she raised him to be a wonderful man. She did this by herself as well as have a career she put her all in whatever she did, especially her son. She also truly adored for siblings and nieces and nephews. She will never be forgotten by her living family. I send my sympathy to each and every one in the family. My prayers are with you.🌹

candle 4Jeanne was a great colleagues and an even better friend. She cared deeply about her friends and family and treated her patients as she would a family member. I learned so much from her professionally, but she also taught me so much as a friend. She gave this a strong fight. I don’t know of anyone kinder that was also so incredibly strong.
I will miss laughing with her and will still “ask” her advice when I need guidance with a patient.
Her family will stay in my prayers. She won’t stray far from my thoughts.
