Jean Marie Sargent, of unincorporated St. Charles County, MO, passed away at the age of 64 on Saturday, November 30, 2019. Beloved wife of 42 years to Guy E. Sargent III; loving mother to John, Sarah (Kirchhofer), Abigail (Robbins), Guy IV and Nathan; devoted grandmother to Miriam, Rebekah, Ezekiel, Jadon, Catherine, Elianna, Jenna, Laura, Alexander, Francesca; dear mother-in-law to Anitra (nee Friess), Drew Robbins and Jeffrey Kirchhofer; caring sister to Robert and Betty Mabry; fond aunt to Lorraine (nee Mabry) Kullman and Mark Mabry; affectionate niece to Joyce “Bunny” (nee Mabry) Yates. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Margaret “Clare” (nee Markle) Mabry, and by her sister, Mary Agnes Mabry.
Jean was a devoted Christian who called herself a “daughter of the God of All Creation” and was a member of Waypoint Church in Harvester, MO. She enjoyed supporting overseas missionary efforts and participated in short-term trips to Romania, Colombia and Brazil. Her biggest prayer for everyone was that they come to know God’s grace through saving faith in Jesus Christ.
Fulfilling a lifelong goal, Jean graduated with honors in summer 2019 from St. Charles Community College. Jean was Super Grandmother, endlessly optimistic, constantly smiling, a big hugger, always kind, fiercely loving, determined and relentless. She loved snow, camping, nature, the beach, jogging, running 5Ks and cycling the Katy Trail. Jean played the Hammered Dulcimer, enjoyed crafts and gardening, and spending time with her family, extended family and friends.
Jean loved everyone she ever met, regularly becoming instant friends with total strangers, and always looking for the good in everyone and every situation. She also had a big heart for special needs individuals and served them for more than 40 years.
Jean’s family is shocked at her sudden passing, thankful for her homecoming in Heaven, and cherishing their memories and love for her in their hearts.
Memory contributions may be made in Jean’s honor to
Samaritan’s Purse to support the Operation Christmas Child program.
