Smith, James, of O’Fallon, MO, died on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at the age of 77. Beloved husband of 14 years to Corine Smith; cherished son of the late Alfred and Mary Smith; devoted father of Gregory (Vicki) Smith, Eric (Nancy) Smith, and Andrea (Scott) Latta; loving stepfather of Jack (Kathleen) Frosch and Michael (Kathleen) Frosch; dear brother of Donald (Bonnie) Smith, David (Carolyn) Smith, Darla Williams, and the late Doris Roper. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren.

James was also preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Smith.

James proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Peters, and had a passion for volunteering. He volunteered doing both jail ministry and working at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, as well as his beloved dog, Gracie. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
