James “Jim” D. Armstrong

May 2, 1943 — April 23, 2021

James “Jim” D.  Armstrong of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 at the age of 77. Loving husband of Carmelita Armstrong; beloved son of the late James Raymond and Genevieve Armstrong; cherished father of Ashley Armstrong, David (Stephanie) Armstrong and Jeff Armstrong; dear brother of Mary L. Johnson, Ray Armstrong and survived by many extended family and friends.

Jim attended Central Methodist University, Truman University and University of Missouri, he nearly completed his doctorate and was a student for life. Served as the Principal for Orchard Farm School District for 23 years and taught classes at Lindenwood University. Jim was married to the love of his life, Carmelita for over 42 years. They met through their teaching careers and were married in St. Charles, Missouri.

Jim was passionate about food, he loved to cook and was very good at it. He was an avid Cardinals Baseball fan and season ticket holder. Jim enjoyed being around people, laughing and living life. He was a wonderful friend and looked forward to “meeting with the boys”.  Jim was a devout Christian and former member of Harvester Christian Church in St. Charles, MO.  The most important part of Jim’s life was his family and he will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Memorials may be made in Jim's name to Association on Aging with Developmental Disabilities.

At Jim’s request cremation rites have been afforded and no services will be held.
