James “Archie” Ervin
December 8, 1934 — November 23, 2016
James “Archie” Ervin, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of 22 years to Candace “Candy” Ervin; son of the late Archie Charles and Gladys Ervin. He was lovingly raised by his aunt and uncle, the late James and Rhoda Cash. He was the dear brother of Virginia "Jesse" (the late Eugene) Bost; treasured son-in-law of Edward (the late Joyce) LaPointe; and cherished brother-in-law of Marla (the late Elbert) Feske and Donna Jean (the late Stan) LaPointe. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Archie proudly served in the armed forces for 38 years. His rank was Master Sergeant when he retired in 1994. He was a devoted member of The Solid Rock Baptist Church. Archie was also a member of the Honda Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Being from Chattanooga, Tennessee, he greatly enjoyed the University of Tennessee Volunteers, Krystal Hamburgers, Double Cola and Cheerwine Soda, MoonPies, and Grizzly Bears. Archie was dearly loved, and will be missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Solid Rock Baptist Church, 150 Reading Avenue, Maryland Heights, MO 63043 or National Kidney Foundation.
