Jackie M. Layne of Saint Peters, Missouri, passed away at the age of 55 on Friday, April 9, 2021. Loving wife of 32 years to Robert Layne; beloved daughter of Gail and Richard Gall; devoted mother of Christopher Layne, Erin Layne, Joshua Layne, Daniel Layne; dear sister of Jason (Kristen) Gall and Suzanne (John) Zdrodowski.
Jackie first met her husband in 1971 when they were just kids in kindergarten and second grade, and she lived about half a block apart from him. In 1986, in Trenton, IL, they became reacquainted while Robert was in the U.S. Air Force and he was visiting his family. On October 10, 1987, Robert proposed to her and they were wed on April 8, 1989.
Together, Jackie and Robert enjoyed taking long walks together and going to parks or the zoo. They liked traveling home to visit family for holidays and get-togethers.
As a strong woman of faith, Jackie was very active with volunteering at her church. She loved working with the kids at vacation bible school, teaching Sunday school, and other activities centered around the children. She was also able to homeschool her children and was involved in the St. Charles Christian Home Educators.
In her spare time, Jackie liked to scrapbook and work on sewing projects. She received her certification as a cake decorator and had lots of fun baking and decorating cakes for her family through the years.
Jackie will be remembered for her gentle, loving nature and how she loved and cared for her family and friends. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
