Herbert L. Ford

Herbert L. Ford, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at the age of 69. Loving husband of 40 years to Diane Ford; beloved son of the late Herbert Wallace and Elaine Ford; devoted father of Gerald Ford, Candy (Joe) Primavera, Jeffrey (JoAnn) Sisk, and Julie (Bill) Steimel; cherished grandfather of 14; treasured great-grandfather of three; dear brother of Barbara (Jim) Donato, Bonnie (Jerry) Heath, Nelda (Terry) Cook, and David (Kathy) Ford.

Herb retired from General Motors after completing 30 years as an assembly worker.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife out west, and some of his favorite places were Utah and the Rocky Mountains.  He was a true outdoors man, and a real national park junky and made sure he visited as many as possible.  Herb enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking as well.  Mostly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and reading to them.   He was a great inventor and liked working with his hands creating gadgets around his home.  In his spare time, he also enjoyed doing ceramics and building furniture.  For anyone who knows Herb, they appreciated his stubborn nature and witty character.  He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
