Helen Frances Ohlms (nee Simon), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away on Monday December 17, 2018, at the age of 88. Loving wife of the late Kenneth E. Ohlms; beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Simon; devoted mother of Michael (Pam) Ohlms, Elaine (James) Bethmann, Ron (Jean) Ohlms, Gail Groeblinghoff, Ed (Vicky) Ohlms, and Roger (Katie) Ohlms; cherished grandmother of Jason (Veronica Reyner) Ohlms, Eric (Deanna) Ohlms, Shawn (Brooke) Ohlms, Adam (Tess) Bethmann, Brian (Nikki) Bethmann, Cory (Sheri) Bethmann, Scott (Heather) Ohlms, Shelly Ohlms, Kelly (Jason) Arnold, Brad Schwerdt, Jim (Jennifer) Schwerdt, Jill (Nathan) Davis, Ben Groeblinghoff, John (Christine Eddings) Ohlms, Jacob (Julie) Ohlms, Julie (Cody) Anno, Tricia (Stephen) Major, Sara Ohlms, and Kayla Ohlms; treasured great-grandmother of 24; great-great grandmother of 3; dear sister of Virginia (Dennis) Schaeffer and Rose Marie Leonhard. Helen is preceded in death by her two sisters, Dorothy Wehmeyer and Lucille Fischer; and three brothers, Joseph, John, and George Simon (died in infancy).
Helen was a parishioner at All Saints Catholic Church, member of the Happy Neighbors Extension Club, TOPS, and the All Saints Quilters. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of two bowling leagues. Helen belonged to two card clubs and a Bunco club. She enjoyed bingo, quilting, spending time at the casino, and traveling throughout the United States. She was quiet, patient, sweet, and always smiling, not to mention a wonderful cook. Helen was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
