Harrison “Harry” L. Yeakey of O’Fallon, MO, was born May 28, 1933 and went to meet his Savior on March 3, 2017, at the age of 83. Loving husband of Louise Yeakey; beloved son of the late William Yeakey and Holly Yeakey Poe; devoted father of Dinah (Terry) Rogers, Terry (Marita) Yeakey, Cynthia (Ron) Smid, and Grant (Juanita) Yeakey; cherished grandfather of Andrew (Kayleigh) Rogers, Timothy Rogers, Jeremiah Yeakey, Jacob (Monica) Yeakey, Crystal Yeakey, Dorie (Sean) Malensky, Scott (Theresa) Smid, Amber (Dominic) Smid, and Joshua (Jordanka) Yeakey; treasured great-grandfather of Harrison, Jack, Mikayla, Carter, Mariah, Brenden, Ashton, and Hayden; caring great-great grandfather of Teighan; dearest brother of Larry (Ardith) Yeakey, Patricia (Gary) Christian, and Karen (James) Miller; also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Yeakey.
As a young man, Harry was a farmer. He worked 37 years as a machinist and supervisor for McDonnell Douglas. Most recently, he co-owned and operated Classic Travel and Cruises and was a member of the Lake St. Louis Chamber of Commerce. As a dedicated Christian, Harry lived out his faith and served his local church in positions as varied as deacon, elder, and teacher. A member of Grace Community Chapel in St. Peters, MO, he served with the mission board, in youth group, and Sunday morning greeter/hugger. Harry cooked for youth camp and volunteered for Wings of Hope. He traveled to Central and South America on several dental missions, resulting in the organization, Give Kids a Smile. Harry enjoyed baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Harry impacted the lives of many, was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
