Harold William Barklage

Harold William Barklage, of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the age of 93. Devoted father of Janet (the late Arthur) Rhomberg, and Nancy (Grant) Evans; cherished grandfather of Aaron Blankenship, Mark Blankenship, Elizabeth (Dale) Seim, and Eric Evans; treasured great-grandfather of Selena Seim, Sarah Seim, and Evan Seim. Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gladys Marie Barklage; daughter, Betty Gayle Barklage; parents, William and Pauline Barklage; brother, Paul Barklage; sister, Eunice Dickens; and aunt, Ella Barklage.

Harold was a devoted and lifelong member at St. John United Church of Christ in Saint Charles. He was strong in his faith and dedicated much of his time to the church. He  proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and was an active member of American Legion Post #312. Harold loved traveling and sightseeing all over the United States. He enjoyed singing and whistling and often passed his time woodworking and making beautiful grandfather clocks. Harold never knew a stranger, he was a social butterfly and was loved by everyone he met. Family was most dear to Harold. He deeply loved his family, and they loved him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
