Gwendolyn M. Hatley

Gwendolyn Marie Hatley (nee DeWalt) of Saint Charles, MO, passed away on Monday November 19, 2018, at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her dear parents Stuard and Ruth (nee Padrutt) DeWalt; her brothers Stuard, Warren, and Frank DeWalt; and her beloved children Charles, Peggy, and Mark.

Gwendolyn is survived by her devoted husband Max Hatley, her sons Timothy (Judy) and Matthew (Debbie) Sloan; her precious grandchildren Jessica (Terence Sr.) Sloan-McCoy, Jerem (Mary) Sloan, Anita (Lukas) Nordby, Zackery Sloan, and Wyatt Sloan; her treasured great-grandchildren Terence (Alisha) McCoy Jr., Justin McCoy, Vivian Sloan, Alexis Nordby, and Lily Nordby; and her darling great-great-grandchildren Maya and Macy McCoy.

Formerly of Portage Des Sioux, Gwendolyn loved traveling with her husband all around the lower 48 states. She lived her life with the belief that her family was the most important thing to her and a day didn’t go by when this wasn’t written on her heart. Gwendolyn loved education and learning and didn’t stop attending classes until she was well into her 80s. Throughout her life she had many treasured friendships, she was especially fond of those who she was able to grow up and grow old with: Fran, Char, Mary Ellen, and Flo.  She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
