Grant David Tull Sr.

November 3, 1956 — January 4, 2020

On Saturday, January 4, 2020, Grant David Tull Sr., loving husband and father of five children, passed away at the age of 63.

David was born on November 3, 1956 in Hollywood, CA to Blanche Tull. He graduated from Venice High School in Los Angeles, CA in 1974. On July 21, 1979 he married Debra Ann Dressler. They raised two sons, Grant and Christopher, and three daughters, Denise, Patricia, and Jacquelyn.

David and Debra met as kids at 11 and 10 years old. Debra knew that she would marry him then, even when he was pulling her hair and chasing her down the street. David enlisted and proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1974 until 1978. He then reunited with Debra where they fell in love and started their journey together. After the military, he furthered his education to pursue a career in aircraft maintenance. David had a passion for anything mechanical, taking apart cars just to put them back together. He worked as an aircraft mechanic/inspector until he retired from the FAA in 2018. His biggest mechanical challenge was taking apart and completely rebuilding his own Cessna 172 airplane with his wife. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and taught all of his daughters how to ride. He loved his family more than anything. He enjoyed taking long car trips across the country with his wife and kids or camping by a lake. His favorite place to go was the west coast and the beaches where he grew up. David was the support of the family, the rock, the foundation. He encouraged his children to be anything and do anything they wanted in life.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Blanche Tull, and his eldest son, Grant David Tull Jr. He is survived by his wife, Debra Tull and his remaining four children, Christopher (Sam) Tull-Williams, Denise Tull, Patricia (Anthony) Schwalm and Jacquelyn (Derek) Trautman; his grandchildren Briana Holland, Brayden Tull, Joseph Trautman, McKenzie Trautman, Desiree Trautman, Brooklyn Schwalm, and Payton Schwalm and his great-granddaughter Mya Holland.
