Grace Adeline Schroeder of Saint Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 101 on Saturday, January 30, 2021. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend of 52 years, Henry Joseph Schroeder; her parents, William Mreen and Blanche Angeline Mreen; and her siblings, Marie Grothoff and William Mreen.
Grace is survived by her children, Judy (John) Meyer, Vicki (Kip) Bowers, and Donna Schroeder; her grandchildren, Michael (Lori) Meyer and Sarah Elizabeth (Daniel) Cunefare; and her great-grandchildren, Mason, Molly, Claire, and Ava.
Grace was a faithful member of Assumption Catholic Church and remained a devout Catholic her entire life. She was a talented baker famous for her chocolate chip cookies and her loved ones would always look forward to the holidays and her fantastic Christmas cookies. Her garden was her pride and joy and she enjoyed the time she spent outdoors tending to her beautiful, flourishing begonias and geraniums. Grace had a creative streak, often taking up a sewing project (she was a wonderfully gifted seamstress) or making Raggedy Ann and Andy Dolls. She was very proud of the craftsmanship and love that went into each of her creations.
Going out on day trips with her friends from Breeze Park were occasions Grace always looked forward to. She particularly enjoyed her trips to Lone Elk Park or to restaurants. Known as an avid card player, Grace’s favorite game was canasta and she loved playing with her friends and family. Above everything, Grace loved and treasured her family. She was a proud mother to her three daughters and was especially proud to be a wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma. Grace will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
