George E. Bruer Jr.

December 16, 1948 — April 26, 2021

George Everett Bruer, of O’Fallon, MO. Born December 16, 1948 to his parents, George Bruer Sr., and Nettie. George left us April 26, 2021. He was 72. He was the sweetest husband to his surviving wife Barbara; brothers, Gary (Joanne) Bruer, and Greg Bruer, and his sisters, Nancy (the late Kevin) Gunn, Mary (Jay) Penfold, and Patty (Brian) Kalchbrenner. He was an uncle, cousin, in-law, and friend to many and a loving man. He is also survived by his canine companion, Sunshine.

George was a dual resident of Lake of the Ozarks and O’Fallon. He was also a past Member of the Elk Lodge in Lake of the Ozarks and Lions Club in St. Charles. George enjoyed fishing, one of his two true passions, the other, driving with the top down in his Mustang. After retiring from Boeing after 30 years, he traveled with his wife, Barb and together they made memories along the way, usually with their dog in the backseat. Later his battles with illness were met with strength determination, and humor. His sheer stubbornness got him through some very tough times. He enjoyed seeing his young nieces and nephews and was a prankster when they were around. George will be missed beyond time and has been loved beyond measure.

Memorials may be made in George 's name to American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or Five Acres Animal Shelter.

Cremation rites have been afforded and private services will be held.
