Gene Gutgesell, age 90, of St. Charles, Missouri, January 8, 2018. Beloved husband of Pat Gutgesell; cherished son of the late Eugene E. and Ruth E. Gutgesell; devoted father of Susan (Dan) Brennan and Laurie (Mike) Hill; loving grandfather of Joey Brennan, Matt Brennan, Danny (Laurie) Brennan, Ryan Brennan, Rachel (Harrison) Cook, and James Hill; treasured great-grandfather of Avery Cook; and dear brother of Janet (Harold) Cook.
Gene worked as a traffic manager at Carpenter in Russellville, Kentucky for 20 years before retiring. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the WWII era. He enjoyed Mizzou and SLU sports as well as the St. Louis Blues. Most of all, he was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan. Gene was dearly loved, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Inurnment will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care or the Alzheimer's Association.
