Gary A. Vollmar

Gary A. Vollmar, 63, of O'Fallon, MO, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Beloved husband of Carol Vollmar; cherished son of the late Allen and Dorothy Vollmar; devoted father of Lindsay (Ryan) Dunn, Rob (Beth) Vollmar, and the late Jacob Vollmar; loving Papa of Carter and Delaney Dunn; treasured brother of Sandra (Charlie) Schroeder, Patty Moriarty, and the late Tracy Vollmar; dear son-in-law of Ann Wehmeyer and the late Allen Wehmeyer; special brother-in-law of Donna (Craig) Lauser, Beverly (Tim) Griffith, Diane (Doug) Pemberton, and the late Cindy Wehmeyer; cherished uncle of Laurie (Travis) Sewell, Jamie Schroeder, Andrew (Lynsey) Moriarty, Nick Moriarty, Heather (Rusty) Hebert, Jenny (Tony) Lauser, and Jess (Shelby) Pemberton. Gary is also survived by his beloved German Shepherd, Scooter, many great-nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Gary proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he was both active and a Reservist for a total of 11 years. He worked for McDonnell Douglas/Boeing for over 42 years and retired in 2015. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, grilling, attending car shows, riding his Harley Davidson Street Glide motorcycle, going to St. Ferdinand Fish Fries, watching political news programs and the Food Network, making weekly trips to the Car Wash, and above all else, spending time with his family. Though Gary encountered various obstacles in his life, he always remained positive. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his memory will live on within our hearts forever.
