Fred Schaber

Fred Schaber of St. Peters, MO, formerly of O'Fallon, MO, on Friday October 6, 2017, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of 25 years to Beverly A. Schaber (formerly Warnes, nee Bluhm); cherished son of the late Fred R. and Ruth Schaber; devoted father of Michelle (Herb) Tinger, Cheryl Gerdes, and Sheila Chittenden, and step-father of Lora (Rocky) Hamline, Scott (Brenda) Warnes, and Jon (Laura) Warnes; loving grandfather of 21; treasured great-grandfather of 18; and dear brother of Jerry (Sandy) Schaber. Fred is preceded in death by his son Fred V. "Vince" Schaber and grandson Tyler Warnes.




Fred dedicated more than 30 years as an Electrician for McDonnell Douglas and Boeing before retiring in 2000. He loved painting, photography, and flower gardening. Fred has been an active member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church for 58 years, serving as a volunteer in many capacities. He was a former Alderman of O’Fallon, Missouri, during his time he was instrumental in acquiring the O’Fallon City Pool. He volunteered with Youth in Need and was serving on the Board of Regents. He loved traveling, especially to Maine and the Northeast to see the colors of autumn. Fred also played Trumpet for the University of Kentucky Band while attending college. Fred was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
