Fred C. Deutschmann, of O'Fallon, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of Patricia Deutschmann; cherished son of the late Frederick and Elsie Deutschmann; devoted father of John Deutschmann, Jim (Kim) Deutschmann, Mary (Mark) Schumacher, and Richard Deutschmann; loving grandfather of Lisa (Ryan) Helm, Michael (Madison) Schumacher, Laura (Ryan) Peabody, Taylor Schumacher, Emily Deutschmann, Kelsey Deutschmann, and Shea Deutschmann; treasured great-grandfather of Zach Matthews, Blake Matthews, Mila Helm, Ashton Deutschmann, and Harley Schumacher; dear brother of the late Betty (Ed) Davis. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law.
Fred proudly served his country with honor in the United States Navy during World War II. He then went on to graduate from St. Louis University, and after a career as an electronic engineer, Fred retired from McDonnell Douglas. He and his wife of 62 years were also Parishioners of Immaculate Conception Church of Dardenne. Fred is lovingly remembered as a very kind, sweet, and loving person, who was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Fred was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
