Frank S. Gaines, Jr., of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at the age of 89. Loving husband of Janet Gaines; beloved son of the late Frank S., Sr. and Laura Gaines; devoted father of Russell Gaines, Charles (Terri) Gaines, Mark (Carol) Gaines, Allen (Mary) Gaines, Julie (Wes) Neal, Cheryl (Jim) Schmid, Paul Gaines, and Frank (Trish) Gaines, III; dearest brother of Dorothy, Donna, and Carol; he is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his loving dog and companion "Snickers." Frank is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Terri Gaines; and grandson, Gregory Hottman.
Frank proudly served his country in the United States Marines in World War II. He was a private pilot and flight instructor for many years. Frank enjoyed camping and traveling around the world. He was dearly love and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
