Evelyn Lavonne Gardner

Evelyn Lavonne Gardner of O’Fallon, MO, passed away at the age of 86 on Friday, April 5, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gardner; her parents, Charles and Molly Chesney; six brothers and sisters; and one niece.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Byron (Kim) Gardner and Nancy (David) Waits; her grandchildren, Bethany Leigh (Aaron) Guffey, Katie Marie (Corey) Ladymon, and Jodie Michelle Gardner; and her great-grandchildren, Nora Ladymon and Charlotte Ladymon, as well as many loving nieces and nephews;

Evelyn had been a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas since June 21, 2004, and even held the distinguished designation of "Real Granddaughter," which is exceptionally rare. She was able to trace her lineage all the way back to Jacob Chesney in 1836. Evelyn was an avid reader and friends and family will always remember her brilliant mind and loving nature. She was greatly loved, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
