Eugene "Gene" Robert Sonnenschein of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018, at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Carol Ann Sonnenschein; cherished son of the late Julian and Theresa Sonnenschein; devoted father of Laura Marie (Tim) Paul, Matthew Robert (Shannon) Sonnenschein, Angela Jean (Brian Dunn) Sonnenschein, and step-father of Carol Corum; loving grandfather of Brandon Paul, Jenna Paul, Brinleigh Rambaud, and Nicholas Corum; dear brother of Julie (Eamon) Concagh, Theresa Sonnenschein, Marie (Jim) Condis, Dorothy (Mort) Small, Henry  (Kenny) Sonnenschein, Veronica (Tom) Yeager, Mariann Sonnenschein, John (Janis) Sonnenschein, and Joe Sonnenschein; and loving cousin, uncle, and friend to many.

Gene, Gene the Dancing Machine was known as the life of the party. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing with his dogs, riding his motorcycle, throwing backyard parties, grilling on his deck, and helping family and friends with home improvement projects. His happy place was fishing with the Montauk “Trout, Beer, & Fun Club.” He had a passion for distilling liquor, making rings out of coins, flying drones, growing banana trees, and was a Frankenstein enthusiast. He dedicated his career to construction and was part of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 36. Geno was dearly loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

Memorials may be made in Gene’s name to Make a Wish Foundation.
