Eugene “Gene” Honerkamp

Eugene “Gene” Honerkamp, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Dolores Honerkamp; cherished son of the late Leo and Agnes Honerkamp; devoted father of Laura (Bob) Adams, Matt Honerkamp, Julie (Steph) Conoyer, Kurt Honerkamp, and Bill (Kelly) Honerkamp; proud grandfather of Lindsey (Scott) Pliske, Brian (Courtney) Adams, Erica Mound, Chad (Liz) Honerkamp, Tyler Honerkamp, Andrew Honerkamp, and Jaclyn Honerkamp; treasured great-grandfather of Ella Pliske, Hayden Pliske, Tatum Adams, and the late Jacob Pliske.

Gene served his country proudly in the US Navy during the Korean War. He then worked for McDonnell Douglas as an Engineer for over 30 years before retiring. He also volunteered and was involved with the St. Charles Jr. Baseball League Association and was a Board Member of the St. Charles Parks and Recreation. Gene was a devout Catholic and was a longtime parishioner of St. Cletus Catholic Church. He was very talented and loved to design and build things with his own hands. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting and schools events. Gene was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
