Esther Emily Ida Torbitzky

Torbitzky, Esther Emily Ida (nee Wolf) of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday February 1, 2017, at the age of 96. Loving wife of the late Rev. Martin A. Torbitzky; beloved daughter of the late Edward and Selena Wolf; devoted mother of Paul Torbitzky, Mary (Bill) Jacks, and Ruth Dean; cherished grandmother of Laura (Michael) Harris, Rev. Dr. Nichole Torbitzky, John (Sally) Torbitzky, Jason (Rachel Sleeman) Torbitzky, Jacob (Katelyn) Torbitzky, Brad (Lauren) Jacks, Todd Jacks; treasured great-grandmother of Bailey Terrell, Carsen Terrell, Rowan Torbitzky-Lane, Robert Torbitzky-Przekop, Henry Torbitzky, Tristan Torbitzky, Kayla Jacks; dear sister of Velma (Melvin) Vogt. She was preceded in death by her son, David Torbitzky, her grandson, Dustin Dean; and her siblings, Winston Wolf, Edward Wolf, Gladys Barklage, Sylvia Kneemiller, and Kenneth Wolf.

Esther was a loving wife and mother, and a woman of strong faith, devoted to her church. She loved quilting and sewing, and belonged to the Women’s Quilting Social Group at St. John’s United Church of Christ. What she loved the most was spending time with her family and friends. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
