Erving “Erv” Jensen, age 90, of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, May 16, 2017
Beloved husband of 66 years to Beverly M. Jensen; cherished son of the late Andrew and Magda Jensen; devoted father of Theresa “Terry” (Rev. Roy) Christell and the late David (Renee) Jensen; loving grandfather of Kelly Christell (Chris) Hrdina, Amy Jensen, and Clint Jensen; treasured great-grandfather of Brennen Hall and Cash Hrdina; and dear brother of Eric (Bebsie) Jensen, John (Marion) Jensen, and the late Edna McLain. He was also a loving uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
A graduate of the University of Nebraska in Lincoln with a degree in Business Administration, Erv began his career in radio and television broadcasting in both Nebraska and Iowa followed by a several corporate administrative positions finally bringing him home to Chicago. Erv was a Co-Manager with his two brothers during the 1960’s of Nielsen’s Restaurant in Rosemont, Illinois, before finally being hired by Continental Bank in Chicago. Erv retired as a Vice President and Director of Food Services after 20 years with Continental Bank and was recognized as a leader in the food service industry receiving the SFM Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987 and the coveted Silver Plate Award in Business and Industry in 1989.
Erv enjoyed reading, photography, and most especially sailing. He had a great sense of humor, was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
