1936-2019

Elmer E. Dill of St. Charles, MO, passed away at home on Tuesday January 22, 2019, at the age of 82.

Elmer was born on April 10, 1936, in Rich Fountain, MO to the late Henry and Cecilia (Luecke) Dill

On June 2, 1962, he was united in marriage to his beloved wife of 56 years, Ann (nee: Boehm) Dill at St. George Catholic Church in Linn, MO and to this union three children were born; son Steven (Rose) Dill, daughters Maria (Steven) Stiffler, and Staci (Michael) Winchester, treasured grandchildren; Stephanie (Josh) Buatte, Jessica Dill, Jacob Stiffler and Joshua Stiffler. Also surviving are brothers Richard Dill, Leander (Nancy) Dill, and sister Leoba Haller and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Elmer attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Rich Fountain, MO and Fatima High School in Westphalia, MO.  He proudly served his country in the United State Air Force from 1956-1960.

Elmer retired from Ralston Purina after 36 years.  He was a devoted member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years. Elmer was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in St. Charles, MO.

Elmer was born and raised on a farm and his love of the land and love of the country continued throughout his life.  He enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, golfing and carpentry.  Upon retirement, he built his dream cabin in Taos, MO. His greatest love was spending time with his family especially activities with his grandkids.

In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by his step-mother, Baptista Dill, brother Norbert Dill,  daughter-in-law Cathy (nee: Kleeschulte) Dill,  brother-in-law Richard Haller and sister-in-laws Florentine Dill and Mary Dill.

He was deeply loved by his family and his church, giving much time and devotion to both. Elmer was dearly loved in returned by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.

Memorial donations may be made in Elmer’s honor to St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church or to SSM Health at Home Hospice.
