Elmer Buchanan of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away at the age of 80 on Monday, January 7, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Buchanan; his parents, Eldo and Maude Buchanan; and his sisters, Bertha Decker, Elsie (Ken) Benedict, Alberta (Jim) Mitchum, Maxine (Bob) Hopkins, and Lucille (Buddy) Wilson.

Elmer is survived by his step-daughter, Judy (John) Bradshaw; his sisters, Christine (Clint) Masterson and Margaret (Sal) Graham; his granddaughter, Christy (Jason) Sachs; his great-grandchildren, Grant, Will, Blake, and Gracie Sachs; his brother, Jerry (Georgia) Buchanan; many loving nieces and nephews; and his loving companion of seventeen years, Mary Emery.

Elmer enjoyed going outdoors and staying active riding his bicycle or walking. He was a big fan of country music and loved going to concerts or taking trips down to Branson to attend country music shows. He also enjoyed vintage cars, but nothing gave him as much joy as spending time with his beloved companion Mary, and the rest of his cherished family. Elmer was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorial contributions in Elmer’s honor may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Liver Foundation.
