Edward Wilson

Ed passed away on March 19, 2018. He was the loving husband for over 60 years to Mary Reid “Sissy” Wilson and father of May (Mel) Stearn, Miles (Carol) Wilson, Reid (Donna) Wilson and Jim Wilson. He was loved by his grandchildren Dan (Sam), Matt (Morgan), Hank, Tate, and his great-grandchildren Annette, Eddie, and Brady.

Ed proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Following his service, he worked as a St. Louis City Police Officer until he began his career at National Sales Company, the company from which he retired. Ed and Sissy were best friends and spent most of their time with each other. In his earlier years, he and Sissy were active in bike riding, walking, tennis, and attending many Reid family social events. They traveled to several countries, but their favorite destination was Ireland which they visited ten times. As physical abilities for these activities changed, Ed became the driver for Sissy to go to the “office” where he enjoyed reading and playing Sudoku while he waited for her. Ed loved working in his yard and continued this activity until last year.

His quiet and calm demeanor was admired by those who knew him. He will be missed greatly. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Backstoppers or simply a gathering of your family for a party in Ed’s memory would be appreciated.
