Edward G. Morelli, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday January 24, 2017, at the age of 88. Loving husband of 51 years to the late Darlene Morelli; beloved son of the late Frank and Margaret Morelli; devoted father of Glen (Carla) Morelli, Doreen (John) Phillips, and Clark (Denise) Morelli; cherished grandfather of Krista (Scott) Heist, Kara (Brad) Hawking, Kimber (Cory) Davitt, Edward L. Morelli, Jessica Morelli, and Emily (Kenny) Lucarz; treasured great-grandfather of Easton, Tyler, and Zachary; dear brother of Florence (Red) Locatelli. Ed is preceded in death by his siblings, Dominick Morelli, Frank (Louise) Morelli, and Renee (Hank) Milano.
Ed faithfully served his country with honor in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from A.O. Smith Corporation after more than 30 years as a civil engineer, and was a proud owner of Pantera’s Pizza for more than 10 years. Ed enjoyed reading, listening to opera and Frank Sinatra, and working with his hands. He always looked forward to his favorite treat at Grandpa’s Ice Cream, and working on projects at the lake. An avid football fan and skilled athlete in his younger years, his favorite team was the Green Bay Packers. But nothing gave him more joy than supporting his children and grandchildren in their various sporting, academic, and professional pursuits. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. He was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
