Edward “Ed” E. McCoy

February 17, 1944 — May 10, 2017

Edward “Ed” E. McCoy of O’Fallon, MO, passed away on Wednesday May 10, 2017, at the age of 73. Ed was the beloved husband, of almost 52 years, to his high school sweetheart, Sally McCoy (nee: Harter); cherished son of the late Henry E. and Agnes McCoy; devoted father of Vicki (Kevin) Wheeler and Edward "Guy" E. (Heather) McCoy; loving grandfather of Alli (Kolby) Walker, Katie (Tye) Malone, Josh Wheeler, Cole McCoy, Dylan McCoy, and Chase McCoy; treasured great-grandfather of Caiden Walker, Abigail Malone, Adelaide Walker, and Nathaniel Malone; dear brother of Rich McCoy, Chris McCoy, Bruce McCoy, Roger McCoy, Linda Merrins, Mary Beth McCoy, Nancy Mozee, and Julie Miller. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Ed proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, directly after high school, and served for 2 years before returning home. He then worked for over 30 years as a Carpenter and retired in 1997. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and a devoted family man. In his free time, he loved to cook for his family (his beef brisket and “Eggs in a Hole” being just 2 of his family’s favorites); hitting the golf course (he even scored a hole in one on Sally’s birthday); going out to lunch with his best friend, Dale; and listening to his favorite music, Blues & Classic Rock. He was also an avid reader, the Bible being one of his favorite books. Ed was deeply loved, and will be missed immensely by all who knew and loved him.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
